cara : Premium Mare from Langholm, Scotland
Kippure Cara was imported from the Kippure Stud just south of Dublin, Ireland in the fall of 2006. This was the culmination of a 6 year search for a stallion that combined strength, unmistakable pony type and athleticism to cross well with our mares and provide vigor for our existing bloodlines in North America.
In August of 2006, during our visit to Clifden show, we saw a picture of Frederksminde Hazy Merlin in Pat Lynes new book which led us to Micheal and Orla Igoe’s farm on the opposite side of Ireland! He was exactly what we had been searching for and we were able to purchase an outstanding son of Merlin’s to bring to Canada.
We are very excited to have found a stallion that fits our requirements so well and one whose personality is “the icing on the cake”. He is trusting, trainable, brave, and very personable.

Cara's Pedigree
- Frederksminde Hazy Merlin

Cara’s sire was bred by Gunner and Anne Andersen of the Frederksminde Stud in Denmark. Merlin is one of a long list of siblings that have excelled wherever they went throughout the world. He won the stallion class at Ballinalea in 2008 and placed second in the stallion class at Clifden in 2008. Merlin has stamped his impeccable type into his offspring.
- Hazy Dawn

Hazy Dawn, bred by Johnny Lee of Moycullen, was purchased by the Frederksminde stud as a 2 year old. He was inspected and approved in Denmark and won Supreme Champion of the breed show in 1988 & 1989, as well as a Gold Medal in 1994 in recognition of his outstanding offspring to that date - 5 approved stallions. Since then, Hazy Dawn has had a huge impact at first on the Danish breed but now all over the world through all his son and grandsons. Hazy Dawn truly is “a living legend” and “one of the best stallions ever exported from Ireland”.
- Hazy Dawn's sire "Dale Haze"

- Oxenholme Movie Star

Oxenholme Movie Star, bred by H.B. Nielsen at Oxenholm Stud (now retired), was one of the 3 outstanding foundation mares at Frederiksminde until she died in 2009. Movie- Star was a multiple time champion class 1 inspected mare whose offspring have achieved well in many countries. Her foals by Hazy Dawn were consistently outstanding.
